The NetTest 5G Network Emulator from Polaris enables an end-to-end simulation of a 5G network in the lab.The 5G Emulators Suite comprises
the 5G Access Network (gNB), Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF), Authentication Server Function (AUSF), Network Slice
Selection Function (NSSF), Unified Data Management (UDM), Session Management Function (SMF), User Plane Function (UPF) and Policy
Control Function (PCF). With the option to emulate a variety of network topologies, the 5G Emulators are a versatile tool of testing. The Emulators
are designed to test 5G NR base stations (gNBs) and 5G Core Network Functions (NF) according to 3GPP Release 15 standards. Both 5G RAN
and Core Network Equipment manufacturers can use the Emulators for testing the scalability and performance of the 5G nodes. The Emulators
provide a lower cost solution and give greater control as compared to a real node.
Product Highlights
The Emulated NFs can be co-located on one system or
distributed on multiple systems
Internal communication between the emulated core
Network Functions based on Release 15 service-based interfaces
Supports inter-working with NFs from other vendors
The emulated NFs can be grouped into multiple Network
Slices with standard (eMBB, URLLC, MIoT) or operator-defined Service/Slice Types
Supports configuration of multiple simulated users with
multiple slices per simulated user
Tests standard operations, services and features of the cellular network such as UE Registration, Connection Management, PDU Session
Management, UE Mobility, Paging, Roaming, Emergency Sessions, Location Services, Public Warning System, Congestion and Overload
Control, and Multimedia Priority Service
Generates and supports PDU Sessions carrying IPv4 or IPv6, as well as Ethernet and Unstructured (Non-IP) user traffic
Supports multiple ‘PDU session anchors‘ or, UPFs, in a single PDU session
Implements the N3 Inter-working Function (N3IWF) to test:
1.Non-3GPP (e.g. WLAN) access
2.Inter-RAT mobility
Tests service and session continuity modes
Supports testing Voice/Video/SMS over IMS
